DERBY UPDATES

 

Nag-meeting an officers last Sunday, April 25, 2010.  In attendance were Florence de Ocampo, Marcial Espinola, George Lustestica, Ariel Llanto, Glen Olbes, Irene de Jesus, Lualhati Santos, Rosita Destacamento, & Melodie Lanuza.  Then nagkiritaan an mga babayi (Lualhati, Melodie, Florence, Irene, plus Maricel Dollente and Jeslen Mansor) the next day sa bulangan.

So far, amo na ini an mga preparasyones sa Derby:

1. Derby Schedule.  The derby will be on June 19, 2010.  May naka-schedule na kaya sa fiesta na June 27 and dili kita dapat magsabay sa fiesta sa Gubat on June 11.  Tama lang daw an preparation time naton.
2. Cockpit Rental.  An rent sa bulangan, Php10,000.  Kukuwaon ta yan either sa registration fees san mga mabulang OR mahagad kita (cash) assistance in the amount of Php2,000 each sa lima na kilala na parabulang sa Sorsogon.  Ibubutang ta an mga ngaran ninda sa invitations, of course.
3. Invitations.  Kaipuhan may written invitations para sa mga aficionado sa sabong.  Nagdecide kami to prepare 100 (Update: 200 na niyan) invitations.  We did the layout na sa meeting.  Lualhati took pictures of fighting cocks (ayaw na kamo paghapot kun anano & papan-o, hakhakhak) and prepared the lay-out for the invitations.  Maricel has volunteered to print out the invitations na de-colores man ngaya sa front.  Libre na niya an materyales.  (Salamat, Deeden!)  We will be distributing the invitations this week na.  Please contact anyone saamon if you want to help or if you know someone na pwede hatagan imbitasyon.
4. Posters.  After the meeting, namakal na an girls sin materials for the posters.  Trinabaho ni Lual overnight and last April 26, gin-post na sa bulangan sa Barangay Road.    
5. Streamers.  Rosita will solicit streamers from clients na may negosyo na animal feeds.  She will also try sa Asia Brewery.  OK na tabi an solicitation letter c/o Bunay.
6. The Boys of the Batch.  Sinda tabi an in-charge sa mga weighing, etc. ek-ek na dili ko man masabutan, hehe.  Also, an mga kuya ni Irene na kristo sa bulangan will help us.
7. The Girls of the Batch.  In-charge an mga babayi sa posters, invitations, streamers.  Then sa adlaw nin burulang, we will (wo)man the registration tables.  Aga pa lang daw yadto na kita maski 7pm pa an Main Event.

We will hold a general meeting on June 20, 2010 (the day after the Derby) for an update on our financial status, etc.
