NOBELA: Updates on Plans & Activities

2.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.  FUNDRAISING AND HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES & PREPARATIONS:

      Other than the activities already identified last year na idadagos ta man this year (raffle, bingo, pabayle, carolling, publication of souvenir program), may nagsuggest and gin-approve san grupo an PABULANG or DERBY.  Siempre, all out an excitement san mga lalaki, hehe.  Sabi ninda, medyo matrabaho an preparations although minimal an cost pero hataas daw an potential sa fund-raising.  An desisyon:  it will be our first fundraising activity.  If it goes well (enough), we might sponsor two more derbies later this year.  And again depende sa outcome sadi na Derby, basi daw dili  na kita magpa-Raffle.

5.  MONEY MATTERS (Ahem portion)

• MANDATORY Cash contribution per member: Two Hundred Pesos (Php200.00)
• PLEDGES.  The group came up with two lists: mga batch members na posibleng maka-pledge sin amount na more than P3,000.00 and an P3,000 pababa.  Ma-confirm man kuno gihapon an Secretariat saiyo sa kun diin niyo type na category magpabutang, hehe. 
• CASH ON HAND AS OF APRIL 10, 2010: Twenty-Two Thousand One Hundred Fifteen Pesos (Php22,115.00)
• BANK ACCOUNTS
  • We already have a bank account in BPI-Calamba c/o George Lustestica & Melodie Lanuza-Lastica.  Details available at our Facebook account.
  • The group decided that another bank account, this time in a bank in Sorsogon will also be opened for easier access.  An napagkairistoryahan was that the local passbook account will be opened in Banco de Oro-Sorsogon & co- signatories will be:  Josephine D. Bernabe and/or Marcial D. Espinola.

                   UPDATE:  We have opened a Sorsogon bank account c/o Rosita & Lualhati in Allied Bank Sorsogon.  Details available at our Facebook account.

6.)  Tentative DATES for the fundraising campaigns & other activities:

           A.)  Derby Sponsorship = June/July 2010

                        UPDATE:  Now scheduled on June 19, 2010

           B.) Raffle and Disco = October 30, 2010

• General Meeting in preparation for Raffle & Disco = September 18, 2010.
• Manila-based members, please take note of the date. Your presence will be highly appreciated.

          C.)  Caroling / Bingo = December 2010

• Practice schedules will be posted when finalized.

7.)  DERBY DETAILS:

         As discussed last April 10,2010, 4PM at Mango Grill:

• A temporary official letter head for the Batch was designed by Rasam Gunting, gamit an satuyang “official” colors na bright yellow and blue.  I will post a sample later for your comments daw kuno tabi.   Meanwhile, amo idto an gagamiton na design for official transactions and correspondence.
• An official request letter will be prepared and addressed to Atty. Augusto Ortiz (an tagsadiri san bulangan). April 15, Thursday, 9am was scheduled for the group to assemble in SNHS and deliver the letter personally to Atty. Ortiz.

8.)  GRAND ALUMNI BALL: OBSERVATIONS & SUGGESTIONS

• Nagkaradto tabi sa ball sponsored by Batch 85 an mga officers naton.  May mga observations sinda san mga dapat naton iwasan next year pag-sponsor naton sadi. 
• Kaupod sa observations an medyo maluya daw an decor sa stage, kulang an disco lights and spotlights and dili masyado nakita an powerpoint presentation.  (Personal note from Bunay:  Please note that very limited talaga an naging funds san Batch 85 and pinahurusto na lang ninda ini.  Credit should definitely be given sa handful of Batch 85 members na naghiringuha man talaga para maka-produce san mga gin-expect sainda san general alumni.  Anyway, naka-survive man sinda sa demands san pagiging silver jubilarians.  Mapagal man talaga ini na trabaho and grabe an demand sa time & effort sin mga tawo.  Which is why the Officers & Secretariat need your cooperation.  Hopeful man kami kay Batch 86 baga kita. :) )
• We will try daw to improve the lighting para mas may drama, an stage decor dapat daw impressive and an powerpoint /video presentation must be part of the scene onstage nan san production numbers naton.  An lighting, stage decor and powerpoint/video presentation dapat daw magbaragayan and the people in charge of each must coordinate talaga with one another.
• Tables should be reserved for different batches/labels will be prepared to guide attendees.
• Food must be catered with food crews/servers
• We are also considering finding sponsors like nestle/coca cola/san Miguel and fastfood restos who may want to put up booths during the alumni ball.
• There should also be ushers.  Nagvolunteer na si Lual na maggibo sash para sa mga ushers/usherettes na pwedeng an mga daragko na na batit sin mga Batch 86.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR ALUMNI BALL:

• Improve stage lighting (rent)
• Coordinated stage decor, production numbers & costume
• Tables (labeled for each batch), decorated with flowers & candles
• Provide finger foods/pica-pica
• Food carts (food companies & fast food restos)
• Dress code for batch 86
• Ushers with sash
• Emcee:  Rene Jeresano (anano an masasabi mo Rene?  Hehe)
• Pay tribute to golden jubilarians by giving them flowers (red roses for ladies, garlands for the men)
• Someone should be in-charge of lighting alone.
• Strictly no raffle daw
• Start the program on time para mas damo an oras magsarayaw
• WE WILL NEED TO REHEARSE (regular practice then dry-run with lighting epek na daw) THE FOLLOWING:
  • Flashback/Retro production numbers from the Batch
  • Presentation/Tribute to Golden jubilarians
• Projector should be bigger so more people in the audience can see our video presentation
• A GOOD Live band should be hired and the music should be MAKASASAYAW.
